Same Day ACH
Same Day ACH is the ACH network’s faster processing option: eligible payments submitted before the network’s daily cutoffs clear and settle the same business day instead of the next. The network runs three same-day settlement windows each banking day and caps same-day payments at $1 million per transaction. It keeps ACH’s low cost and batch model while shortening the wait — within banking days, not in real time.

Same Day ACH is still ACH: payments batch into scheduled windows, returns remain possible after settlement, and nothing moves on weekends or holidays. It closes the gap for payroll corrections, vendor payments, and account funding that can’t wait a day — but it is a faster schedule, not a real-time rail.
On Infinite, ACH is one of three USD rails behind a single API, alongside Fedwire and RTP. Specify the rail per payment, or let the platform pick: the batch that can wait rides standard ACH, the same-day need gets a faster window or an instant rail when timing demands it.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Same Day ACH limit?
The network caps Same Day ACH at $1 million per payment, with submission deadlines at roughly 10:30 a.m., 2:45 p.m., and 4:45 p.m. Eastern — banks usually set their own cutoffs earlier. Larger or later payments settle next-day, or move to a wire or RTP when timing demands it.
Is Same Day ACH the same as instant payments?
No. Same Day ACH settles in batch windows during the business day and stops on weekends and holidays. RTP settles instantly and finally, 24/7/365 — the two solve different timing problems. RTP
Can any ACH payment be sent same-day?
Payments must be submitted before the network’s daily cutoffs and fall within its per-transaction limit; everything else settles on the standard next-day schedule. Returns remain possible either way. USD Payments
